Why Photography?
For over 40 years, even as a child I have had a deep love for photography. As a child, I would spend hours sitting and looking at my grandmas photo albums instead of playing outside with my siblings and cousins. When I was in the 5th grade, my teacher asked us to write about what we would save first if our home was on fire (not including people or pets of course). At only 9 years of age, the first thing I thought of was, OUR PHOTOGRAPHS! I knew that they are not replaceable and are so valuable. Moments and memories of our past are things we cannot get back. Time goes by so fast and our photographs are the most important “material” possession we can have. There is nothing more important to me than to have a visual keepsake of the things and people I love in this life. Photography captures that instant, that moment in time of our lives and makes a still image of how we lived, what was important to us and that we (and our families) mattered. They also give a glimpse of a person’s personality and heart. I loved to take “pictures” as a child and as I got older my love became deeper each time I got a newer model camera. By the time I had my children I took so many images of them that my grandma would tease me by saying that I could “wall-paper” their bedrooms with the photos.
I probably could have!
In my free time over the years, I enjoyed scrapbooking, learning Paint Shop Pro/Photoshop as a hobby and looking at photography online of weddings, births, children, babies, families, and nature.
Starting in 2010 family & friends began to ask me to take senior and wedding photos for them!
I was honored, shocked and did so but still did not imagine that I could start my own photography business.
Hi! I'm Angie
And that brings me to this point.
In February of 2013 I was admiring some outdoor photos that a friend’s daughter shared on Facebook. I was in awe and wished the weather had been nicer so I could head outside and just take some random photos of nature because it had been a while. Then it just came to me. I want to do this! I want to be a professional photographer! What better way to help our income than to do what I am passionate about and still be a stay at home mom for our family. That was it. I took the leap of faith and after a few months of learning the ins and outs of starting a business in Ohio I registered my name and did all the legal work and formed my first small business and here I am…… I am LOVING this. I've now been in business for 10 years! I am in my third studio and I am the sports portrait photographer for my school district. My photography business has been one of the best parts of my life. Each photo shoot, location, chasing the sun and client has been special in its own way and you will see that in my photographs. Follow my blog to see more of my journey!
Just a fun bit of info-
My grandpa gave me the nickname, "LiL'bit" when I was born because I was very tiny as I was premature. I loved him so much and since he ALWAYS called me that I decided to make it a part of my photography business name! Which is pretty sweet because the newborn photography part of my business is one of my favorites!
READY TO DO THIS?
Let's work together!
